We share Pr Bandajevski’s opinion that the position hiding the real level of the consequences of the Tchernobyl desaster, while at the time feeling reluctant to take the necessary measures to protect the public health is immoral ".

We know that it is impossible to think that the people affected by this disaster, including the liquidators who have substantialy contributed to limiting the damage of this enormous catastrophe, solve by themselves all problems that which it has caused.

That the reason why we support the project of the Center Ecology and Health in its effort of provision of scientific information confirms on the consequences of the long-term chronic exposure to radiation. The biography of Pr Bandajevski, quite exemplary in defending scientific integrity as well as the role of medicine, is a strong proof  of commitment in the service of the scientific truth and of the medicine, shows us that he will know how undertake this struggle.

We also support the integrated model for living in contaminated zones that the Center Ecology and Health is backing. Its multidimensional character is the only approach we consider to be defensible both from a moral point of view as well as producing effective results. And twenty four years after the catastrophe effectiveness is absolutely essential, as a point of ethics, given that the consequences keep reoccurring in the present. The consequences remain serious to say the least : the high rates of suicides among the liquidators, the prevalence of the serious illnesses among the children and adults, demographic consequences and indescribable individual sufferings…

For these reasons we respond quite favorably at the invitation to works on the interaction between medical, ecological and humanitarian non-governmental organizations and in state or interstate actors in the elaboration of a modern international program aimed to fight the consequences of the Tchernobyl disaster.
